The Cornell University men's lacrosse team rallied from a seven-goal deficit with 18 minutes left in the contest, tying the game on a Brian Clayton goal, but Duke's Zach Greer scored the game-winner with three seconds left as the Blue Devils defeated the Big Red, 12-11, in the semifinals of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday afternoon in front of a record-setting crowd of 52,004 spectators at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md.

Cornell finished the season at 15-1, its best performance since the 1987 team went 13-1 and finished the year as the national runner-up.

Also, the Big Red team won some additional honors at the end of the season: five players were taken in major league lacrosse collegiate drafts, and Tim Goldstein '88 was selected for the National Lacrosse Hall Of Fame. Additionally, Mitch Belisle and Matt McMonagle earned USILA top honors as National Defenseman and Goalie of the Year.
